Beaujolais Nouveau Day is the third Thursday in November. This year the release date was November 17th. Eric's and my mission, should we choose to accept it, is to purchase a few bottles of this year's release.
A quick check of the internet reveals the wine
Beaujolais Nouveau is made of the Gamay Grapes from the Beaujolais Region of France. The fresh tasting, young wine is meant to be drunk by May of the following year.
The annual race to Paris with the newly released vintages is met with fireworks and celebrations.
Eric and I buy
Georges Duboeuf's Beaujolais Nouveau. This winery has worked tirelessly to promote its "young wine" worldwide and sells about 4 million bottles each year.
