Driving South to Yuma, Arizona





Eric & I say goodbye to





Today's drive is literally
due South.

Interstate 11 South shares
its roadbed with US Routes
93 & 95.





We left at 9:00 am.

The roads are 
nearly empty.




We continue South
on US Route 93.



I can't identify this black area.

Is it something covered with
black plastic or is it a
Solar Panel Farm?

I take the turn wide & slow.





And follow California
State Route 62 East.





California/Arizona border.







The rest of our drive is
on Arizona State
Route 95 South.















Eric & I drive through Quartzsite,
a favorite wintertime haunt.










I love these mountains!












The Yuma Training Ground
has a long history.




I have no idea where the
bridge goes...

A MashUp of Our March 2020 Las Vegas Trip

Eric and I arrived in Las Vegas on March 5th.  The Coronavirus Outbreak was the lead news story.

Ethel M's is the place to go to watch gourmet chocolates being made, buy Ethel M's best chocolates and wander the paths of this carefully maintained Desert Garden.

Concerns about the spread of Covid-19 (The specific name given to this specific Corona Virus) grew day by day.  On March 16th Eric and I visited Downtown Las Vegas early in the morning.

Eric and walked around Thousand Trails Las Vegas RV Resort.  We counted 32 empty campsites.  Staff told us that people are canceling their reservations.

Eric and I held an exclusive St. Patrick's Day celebration in our motorhome.





































On March 18th I found out that Downtown Las Vegas Casinos and Hotels had closed.   Eric and I counted 43 vacant campsites during our walk.

Monday Morning, March 16th: Downtown Las Vegas


Monday, March 16, 2020: Casinos are closing.  Shows are going dark because of increasing cases of Covid-19 Virus across the United States.  

What can a visitor do in Las Vegas at this time?

Eric and I visit a few more items on our list...






We drove to Freemont & 11th
to see The Big Rig Jig.

Our next stop was inspired by an article I read in The Las Vegas Review-Journal.





Eric & I visited the recently
installed historic VOTES 
FOR WOMEN Marker at 
Centennial Park, on 
South 4th Street.







Fremont Street is a few blocks up, and our next stop.

In just two days, Fremont Street has dramatically changed, again.  While writing this blogpost on March 18th, I found out that many of the businesses along this covered walkway have closed.
