Strolling Along THE BLVD in Downtown Lancaster, California

This nine-block section of Lancaster Boulevard was a drab drive-through section of the City of Lancaster.  In 2010 it was redesigned to create this pedestrian and family-friendly "place to be."  With increased foot traffic, small businesses are fueling an economic renaissance on
THE BLVD.

THE BLVD is etched into
the sidewalk blocks.

Parking is found along the sides
of the BLVD & up its middle.

Intersections are brightly
painted for pedestrians
& drivers.

There are LOTS of stores, restaurants, and businesses along this short stretch of Lancaster Boulevard.  I am sharing my favorite ones in this blog post.

What a great idea.  This sounds to me a lot like what libraries do every day.  Instead of borrowing books and DVDs, MOAH will lend and borrow art collections.
