We are treated to Redding's music as we approach the statue. Eric and I sang along with (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay.
Otis Redding was raised
in Macon.

Bay was recorded on
Otis Redding died in a plane crash just four days later, on December 10, 1967. He was posthumously inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 1981 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989.
The Otis Redding Statue is at the trail head to the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail.
I admire the beautiful
walkway down to
the Ocmulgee River.
Macon is a beautiful, historic city with lots of great architecture to admire. The city honors its history and musical heritage and welcomes visitors to explore the former Georgia frontier.
