Visiting the 911 Memorial & Museum in New York City

The white wings symbolize

beautiful & controversial.

At 8:46 am and 9:03 am, on September 11, 2011 two commercial airliners, flown by terrorists, hit the World Trade Center Towers in Lower Manhattan.  At 9:37 am Flight 77 crashed into the western facade of the Pentagon in Washington, DC.  After learning from family and friends that the World Trade Center Towers and the Pentagon had been hit by planes, passengers on Flight 93 fought with terrorists in control of the plane, causing their plane to crash into a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania at 10:07 am

The below ground Slurry Walls
that were built to keep the
Hudson River from flooding the

prevented the subway system
from flooding & being
damaged.

These mangled steel beams
are from the facade on the
96th - 99th  floors of the
 North Tower.

This large, complex cylinder

atop the North Tower.

1,585 remnants of the World Trade Center Towers were sent to fire departments, police departments, museums, municipalities and community organizations around the United States, China, Russia, England and Canada.

No day shall erase you from
the memory of time.

The 911 Memorial and Museum is a very solemn experience that thoughtfully represents our national tragedy and educates all its visitors.
