The library was housed in a room in Village Hall for many years. The Pancho Villa Lounge was seized by federal agents in October 1992 because it was an asset bought with funds from marijuana smuggling. In 1996, the contents of the Pancho Villa Lounge was auctioned off and the proceeds were set aside to fund the Columbus Village Library.

the dance floor from the
former Pancho Villa Lounge.
The library maintains its history with newspaper clippings detailing its transformation from the village's only bar to the center of activity for Columbus.

Centrally located in Columbus, the Columbus Village Library has rewritten the history of the village bar with a notorious past.
