Here's where the road
gets interesting.
We are on a 9 % grade
for the next four miles.
The road looks like
a slithering snake.
This is the start of a curve
that never seems to end.
Mount Pisgah National Park
is the site of the first forestry
school in the country.
Sliding Rock is the biggest
water slide I've ever seen,
& it's all natural.
It's early in the season &
we enjoy a nearly empty road.
Looking Glass Falls appears
suddenly at the side of the road.
There's a gently sloping ramp
The gently rolling side of the
mountain has houses & businesses.
This campground caught my eye.
The driveway into the campground
is very narrow.
What a drive! Vermont and New Hampshire mountain roads have nothing on US Route 276 between Maggie Valley and Brevard, North Carolina.
