Watching boats near
There are two ways to get to Hoonah on Icy Point...
Eric & I take the 1.5-mile
Nature Trail to Honnah
Cannery & the Beach.
The tram brings visitors
to town.
The large ruffly orange growth is a
Decaying tree stumps are
nurseries for new life.
Bears eat its Berries.
Built in 1912, the Hoonah Cannery
processed Salmon until 1953.
The Beach is rocky.
I think the stumps are the
remains of an old pier.
Eric & I scan the water
for Whales.
We join others near the
Orca Statue for a better
view of the water.
During our visit, Eric and I didn't see any spouting water or the backs of Whales.
