Driving Northwest to Gallup, New Mexico

The Balloon Fiesta is over
& the RV Grounds are
nearly empty on
Monday morning.

Safety cones & pylons stand
in a near empty street.

Today's drive takes us
west on Interstate 40
toward Grants.

We are topping off the diesel
 in our motorhome, dumping our
grey & black tanks & filling the
 fresh water tank with potable
water at Flying J in Western

We admire rock formations
that rise out of the flat
landscape.

The Laguna
Water Tower

A 66 Pit Stop
Gas Station

Eric points out this lone
Port-a-Potty in the middle
of a field.

Sky City Casino Hotel
is one of several casinos
along Interstate 40 West.

71 miles to Gallup

Dark grey rocks rise out
of the landscape.

Eric relaxes as
I drive.

The landscape continues
to change...

This red mesa looks
like it has a turret.

Eric takes a photo of
sign.

I asked Eric to take a
picture of Cash Cow.

It is the most distinctive
loan company I've seen
during our travels.

Eric and I are staying the night at Walmart.  The Home Depot, next door, allows overnight parking too.

We went NW. This morning, I had never heard of Aztec NM. This afternoon I'm relaxing there. Tomorrow we'll check out the Aztec Ruins National Monument, then Thursday we'll go to Mesa Verde, and after that to the Four Corners. Have a good trip wherever you go!
