The temperature dropped to 15.9
degrees Fahrenheit last night.
It was also windy.
The ceramic bulb emits heat,
keeping the water compartment
& water pump above 32 degrees.
We don't want the water in the water pump to freeze and damage the diaphragm inside the pump.
The black blob under the
ceramic bulb is the
water pump.

the right.
Eric labeled the inline switch
that came with the ceramic bulb.
Eric added an incandescent Trouble Light to provide extra heat in the water compartment. He also set our thermostat in the motorhome to 63 degrees. When the temperature drops to 63 degrees, the propane fueled furnace comes on. Heat will come through duct work to the water compartment, providing a third heat source.
The water compartment was kept "warmish" and the water pump functioned through the coldest night we've ever experienced in our motorhome.
