Adam, Eric & I are celebrating
Adam's 33rd birthday at
Mexican Radio in Schenectady.
Mexican Radio is located in the Imperial Building. The Imperial was a high end women's shop in downtown Schenectady for many years.
I stopped & admired the curved
staircase to the second floor.
The bar is hopping...
I peeked out at the patio.
It's lovely.
Religious paintings &
votive candles from
a church.
People seated at this table
share their meals with
an angel.
There's a second bar near
our table.
Our server, Katie, brought
Salsa & Tortilla Chips for
us to nibble on.
Adam, Eric and I admire the decor. Some aspects of it remind us of our family's visit to Nicaragua in 2000. Eric and I returned in 2012 and enjoyed four weeks staying in different areas of the country.
Adam's birthday dinner is Carnitas:
Shredded Pork slow cooked with
Oranges, Limes & Garlic &
Smokey Pepper Salsa with
Tortillas & a Salad.
Eric chose Plantain Rellenos:
Sweet Caramelized Plantains
stuffed with Beef, Chicken;
Sauce & Lime Crema; served
with Black Beans & Rice.
I chose Carne Asada Fries:
Marinated Grilled Steak served
atop Homemade Fries with
Melted Cheese, Guacamole,
Crema & Pico de Gallo with
a Salad.
Adam, Eric and I enjoyed our meals and talked about tonight's Schenectady Light Opera Company presentation of Spamalot. We are looking forward to seeing a community theater presentation of one of our favorite Monty Python productions.
