With a Dawson City map in
hand, we head off in search
of the Robert Service Cabin.
Robert Service's poetry captured the early days of the Yukon Territory.
I examine the porch &
front steps carefully
constructed with smaller,
straight tree branches.
Robert Service lived in Dawson City from 1909 to 1912.
This Birch Chair is a replica of the
one used by Robert Service.
The cup holder is a modern day
addition to the chair's classic style.
This two room cabin is filled
with early 20th Century
household items.
The ceilings are papered &
the walls are plaster & lath.
These additions insulated
the cabin.
Service's small, efficient bedroom
I enjoyed stepping back in time and appreciating Robert Service's writing space.
