Walking Around Historic Savannah, Colonial Park Cemetery

Finally, the last post about Historic Savannah....  The Colonial Park Cemetery borders West Oglethorpe Avenue.  This small cemetery was opened in 1750 and many of Savannah's earliest citizens are buried here.  This cemetery is one of the stops on Savannah Ghost Tours.

Colonial Park Cemetery was closed for burials in 1853 and became a city park in 1896.
