Our Ride to Fort Clinch State Park

Eric and I have done a lot since we retired in September 2012.  We crossed the country, twice; drove to Atlanta, Georgia; spent four weeks in Nicaragua; went to Mardi Gras in New Orleans and have spent about two weeks in Florida.  What we haven't done much of is ride our one speed bikes.

Today we rode five miles
to Fort Clinch State Park.

This National Gold Medal
winning park opened in
1935.

This is a beautiful place
to ride bikes.

I think it would be a great
place to film a movie.

Besides the park roads
there are bike trails where
helmets are required.

We stopped at
the Salt Marsh.

The light from the Amelia
Island Lighthouse can be
seen for 16 miles.

Men are fishing off
the Fort Clinch Pier.

The campground is
within walking distance
of the beach.

Pelicans and a flock
of small birds at the beach

People fishing from
the causeway.

The Spanish Moss hanging
from the trees makes this
section of the road look creepy.

On our way back to the motorhome, we stopped for lunch at Moon River Pizza.
We rode ten miles today.  I wonder where we'll ride next.
