Today's drive starts on
Eric & I follow road signs
west toward Chicago.
The Corn is quite tall.
Is it as high as an Elephant's eye?
Chicago is 164 miles away.
This accident must have just happened...
A Tractor Trailer drove off the road.
A Paver lays down new
Asphalt.
Welcome to Indiana
Crossroads of America
Each vehicle waits at the
red light before continuing
on Interstate 90 West.
Westbound traffic to
Chicago is heavy.
Welcome to ILLINOIS

Bridge construction from a
different perspective...
An American Flag billows
from a Crane in this roadway
construction site.
I am focused on the Joliet
sign.
During a previous drive in this area, we drove past Joliet Prison to see where the opening scene of The Blues Brothers was filmed.
Joliet Jake Blues (Jim Belushi) leaves Prison after serving three years of his five-year term. His brother, Elwood (Dan Ackroyd), is waiting for him in a beat-up Police Car. During their visit to the Catholic Orphanage where they were raised, Sister Mary Stigmata (Kathleen Freeman) tells Jake and Elwood that $5,000.00 is needed to keep the doors open.
The Blues Brothers hit the road on "Their Mission from God" to raise the needed funds.
days at Thousand Trails
It's nice to get off the road for a few days. We will continue our drive west with a full tank of water and an empty sewer tank.
