Dr. Goddard, with funding from the Smithsonian Institution and Daniel and Florence Guggenheim Foundation, moved his work on rocketry from Massachusetts to o the New Mexico, where he was able to build and launch rockets with payloads. He was a visionary who anticipated the development of the German V-2 Rocket and foresaw rocket development that would reach the moon.
