Clockwork Rose Tea Emporium Steampunk Tearoom in Beaverton, Oregon

Eric and I drove an hour and a half to Beaverton for a very special dining Experience

Afternoon Tea at Clockwork

Eric searches for unique dining experiences during our travels.  Clockwork Rose Tea Emporium Steampunk Tearoom is an amazing find.

Come In We're
      OPEN
And Awesome

Afternoon Tea became an English tradition during the Victorian Era.  At that time, fashionably late dinners occurred at 8:00 pm, necessitating the addition of an afternoon snack, served with Tea.

How does Steampunk fit with Afternoon Tea?

Steampunk is a type of Science Fiction/Fantasy Literature that often takes place in Victorian (1800s) London.  The stories feature futuristic steam-driven machinery.

Clockwork Rose Tea Emporium is a mashup of a Tearoom with Science Fiction/Fantasy details.

Afternoon Tea is a leisurely, two-hour experience here.  There's plenty of time to enjoy the foods and tea while taking in the many details of the Tearoom.

Fun Fact:  The collection of Tea Cups here ranges from the common to the unique.  Guests don't know if they are drinking from inexpensive or thousand-dollar Tea Cups.

Our server, Tabitha, walks us through the large selection of Teas.  Eric's choice of Tea is Clockwork Rose, a complex tea with a smoky finish.  I chose Wonderland, a fruity tea with spicy notes.

our Tea Treats.

Our meal starts with
Tomato Bisque.

It's excellent!

Next, Eric and I eat savories from the bottom tier with Cucumber, Egg Salad, and Ham and Cheese Finger Sandwiches; Mini Quiches; and Puff Pastry Sausage Rolls.  We are delighted with the selection of rich-tasting dishes.

The middle tier has Scones with Jam and Clotted Cream.  Eric and I love Scones and are very pleased with the chosen accompaniments.

The top tier is desserts:  Flavorful Puddings, Fruit Tarts, and Macaroons, just marvelous!

Afternoon Tea.

The Cheesecake is sweet, creamy, and dense...  Eric and I love it!

For travelers:  Add Portland, Oregon to your list of West Coast cities to visit.  It is a Food Lovers Mecca.  AND add extra time to drive west to Beaverton and treat yourself to Afternoon Tea with an infusion of Steampunk.
