Destination: Sacramento, California

A snowstorm is sweeping across Yosemite National Park, dropping 6 to 12 inches of snow.  Eric and I had planned to visit the Park, but we don't have gear for winter trekking.  Plans change...  We are now driving west to Sacramento, California.

Leaving Walker Lake RV Resort

We are driving West on

Snow-capped mountains
in the distance

A valley comes into view.

Welcome to Carson Valley

Rugged, Relaxed, Reachable

Next turn: Nevada

Roadside trees are in bloom

Eric slows as we approach
the roundabout.

Thanks for Visiting

Welcome to California

is a Scenic Route.

I expect to see Maria &
playing on the mountainside.

We turn onto California

We are now on US 50 West.

The electronic sign says:

Eric & I enjoy the
Winter Wonderland

The truck in the oncoming
lane passes a snowplow.

The start of another 6% Grade
& an upcoming 30 mile

This is a beautiful drive.

Cars are parked at the

Unleaded Regular Gas
is $4.29 per gallon.

Diesel is $4.19 per gallon.

A Stream burbles down
the mountain.

TEACH PEACE

The downhill grade is gentle &
the road widens to four lanes.

The road narrows for
bridge construction.

Welcome to Placerville

A fully branched out

We top off the Diesel Tank
at a Valero.

$3.95 per gallon is a good place
for Diesel in California,

We are now staying at the
CAL-EXPO RV Park.

Eric registers at the Office.

The RV Park is adjacent to
the State Fairgrounds.
We have water, 50 amp electric service, and a sewer connection.  The voltage here is very good -  in the low 120s.

The map of the RV Park
shows two parking lots.
Staff at the Office told Eric to keep our bikes locked up during our stay.
We wonder why the warning is printed on their flyer.
