Riding the Bike Trail in Yuma, Arizona

Eric and I are riding the East-West Section of the Yuma Bike Trail today.

I'm giving Eric a
Selfie Break &
this is how he
repays me!

The Bike trail runs next
to railroad tracks...

... & goes past neighborhoods.

Solar Panels & flowering
bushes

Riders can park their bikes
off the Trail & take a break.

Welcome to West Wetlands

Eric & I enter Gateway Park.

At the time, this was the only bridge across the Colorado River and the major shortcut in the Western States for overland shipping and travel.

This portion of the Bike Trail
runs along an irrigation canal.

Cairns "grow" out of
the rock-strewn berm
next to the Trail.

The Territorial Prison
is on a bluff above the
Colorado River.

A Great Egret appears to be
snoozing in a nearby tree.

Eric & I ride to the Eastern end of the Trail, where the pavement ends, and retrace our ride.

Eric's shadow glides past
the Rest Area

This is an easy ride.  We look forward to exploring the North-South Trail on another day.
