Eric & I drove to

Space Center Houston

aka Johnson Space 

Center for a tour.

Talon T-38 Jets were used to

 acclimate Astronauts before

they flew the Space Shuttle.

This complex was

named for Vice

President Lyndon 

B. Johnson in 1973.

On May 25, 1961 President

John F, Kennedy announced

that the US would send a man

to the Moon by the end of

the decade.  

Construction on this 1,620-acre complex began in 1961.  It is the hub of the 60-year-plus US Space Program

landed on the Moon on

July 20, 1969.

The Lunar Rover was used in

subsequent Moon Missions

to extend the Astronauts'

range of exploration.

NASA is now planning the

first Lunar Space Station.

It will be a preparation platform

for Mars Exploration.

The International Space Station 

was launched in the late 1990s 

to serve as a Research Laboratory

for International Crews of 

Astronauts to conduct Research in 

microgravity.

Each Astronaut has an

individualized Diet.

Astronauts bring memorabilia with them on Missions.

Astronaut Greg Chamitoff

brought this Star Trek

Uniform souvenir on

his Space Shuttle Mission.

He and his fellow Crew Members watched the Star Trek Series during a Space Shuttle Mission.

Astronauts work out daily

on their Space Missions

to maintain Bone &

Muscle density.

The Space Toilet use

airflow for "flushing."

Each Astronaut has their

own private space...

It's very compact.

NASA is preparing to go to Mars,

the closest planet to Earth.

There's a lot of preparation involved in this next "Giant Step."  Astronauts will have to be protected from the Toxic Dust on Mars. 

Space Center Houston has

tours of its complex.

This building houses a

restored Saturn V Rocket.

The NASA Water Tower

The Clinic is available for thousands

thousands Space Center Staff.

Ambulances are ready to roll for

serious emergencies.

keep everyone safe at 

Space Center Houston.

Building 9 houses the Space Vehicle Mockup Facilities.

Training for every single detail

 of a Space Mission occurs

in this huge workspace.

This is the Orion Capsule.

It will be used for the manned

Artemis II Mission.
