Driving the Grey Eagle Mine Trail to The Desert Bar

Eric & I drive north to 

Parker...

... to gas up at Terrible's before
starting our off-road drive.

$2.19 per gallon or regular gas
is a bargain.

Eric turns off Arizona 95 for

the less traveled path.

This is the hardest section

of today's drive.

If we can't climb this rocky

incline, we'll turn around

& take the easy route.

I hold on to the OS (Oh Shit)

Bar as Eric climbs....

Our Jeep muscles its way over the rocky incline and we continue to follow the rough track.

Eric added waypoints to 

the GPS last night.

With the planning done,

he is focused on the drive.

 The terrain is beautiful.

The trail is narrow...

I got a shot of a"keyhole."

Eric & I catch up with a

group of ATVs.

Eric picks a line & drives
over the rocky trail.

Most of the time, I agree
with his choices.

The red desert rock contrasts

with the tan & grey landscape.

Decisions, decisions...

Rocks slip beneath the

Jeep's tires.

Look at how green the desert is after last week's soaking rain.

The road ahead....

The trail is eroding....

Eventually, this section will
 have a different route.

The chapel at The Desert
Bar is in the distance.

The retaining wall wasn't

here in 2016.

Today's trail ride took longer than we expected.  Fellow Boomers drove the easier road and saved seats on the patio for us.
