Visiting Delaware's State Capitol in Dover, Delaware

On  December 7, 1787, the Delaware Delegates to the Constitutional Convention unanimously ratified the US Constitution and the Delaware Colony became America's first State.

Delaware's Old State House was replaced by Legislative Hall in 1933.

The new seat of State Government was expanded in 1970 to provide more space for both Houses of the Legislature.

This Georgian Revival buiding is constructed with homemade bricks.

According to the Delaware State Government Website, Legislative Hall is open to visitors during the Pandemic.  August 26, 2020

This is our 49th
State Capitol
visit.

Security Staff was
surprised to see us.

We were allowed
to take this pic
at the foot of
the main
staircase.

This was the shortest State Capitol visit ever.  Eric and I walk around the building to read the memorials to Delawareans.
