Driving Dripping Springs Trail Near Quartzsite, Arizona

Today's drive on Dripping Springs
Trail starts off easy...

The gravel road brings us through a flat, open area.

The desert has a greenish tinge, thanks to the recent rains.

Brittlebrush is blooming.

like a miniature Poppy.

The Ocotillo has green
leaves.

A Teddy Bear Cholla
is on the right.

The trail brings us into a
steep-sided wash.

Delicate Chuparosa bloom
on a near-dead looking bush.

Erosion created a tower on
the edge of the wash.

Eric points out the large Milky
Quartz deposit on the driver's
side of the car.

Someone built a cairn to guide
future hikers, drivers.

It's a bumpy road ahead...

This shot shows how deep
the wash is.

We leave the wash for open terrain....

... & acres of Teddy Bear Cholla.

Drivers are warned not to
this low lying section of
primitive road.

Arizona's "Stupid Motorist Law," Section 28-910 of the Arizona Revised Statutes allows communities to charge drivers stranded in flooded areas for their rescues.
