Grocery Shopping @ Stater Bros. Market in Beaumont, California

A new grocery store to
investigate....

Stater Bros. Market

After snapping a few pics at the Piggly Wiggly in Dothan, Alabama n January 2013, I developed a fascination with supermarkets.

Since then I've visited grocery across the US and in Canada.  Here's a short list: Hy-Vee (my favorite), Peppers, Market Basket, Farm Fresh Supermarket, DillonsSave On Foods, Real Canadian Superstore, and no frills.

I like to see seasonal
displays.

How much space is
devoted to nonfoods?

The Floral section easy
to find & has many
types of arrangements.

Health & Beauty

What merchandise does
the store decide to
promote?

Are the fruits & vegetables in
the Produce Department
fresh & of high quality?

The Frozen Foods cases
ae well stocked.

The Bulk Foods are in
a stand-alone case.

That's a neat idea.

There's a lot of Diet Snack &
 Protein Drinks at State Bros.

What is Muscle Milk?

The Greeting Card racks
run the length of the aisle.

Scratching Posts, Pet Crates &
Beds are on the top shelf of
the Pet Aisle.

Eric does the shopping and I am often surprised by grocery stores stocking larger items.

Multi-Packs of Snacks,
Crackers & Sweet Treats

Baby Care is on the left.

Nuts & Juices are on the
right.

Pastas

Beans, Canned Pasta Meals
& Ramen Noodles

The Candy Aisle is one of
my favorite places in any
store.

Flavored Popcorn, Wines,
Prepackaged Deli Meats,
Spreads & Cheeses

Cleaning & Laundry
Products

The Dairy Section

Beer in Cold Cases

Oven Fresh Bakery

Ocean Fresh Seafood

Quality Service Meat

I like that promises are made in the perishable food departments.

The Wine Aisle

The place where meal
planning is completed.

Stater Bros. Market has great selections across the entire store.  I was happy to see Stater Bros. store brands. This helps cost-conscious shoppers stretch the grocery budget.

Eric found this map at the
Palm Desert Market.

As someone who's nearly
always a stranger in a new
place, I find this to be very
helpful.
