Driving to Midtown Manhattan

Eric used ParkWiz app to reserve parking in Midtown Manhattan, south of Central Park.

Eric & I head into the Jersey City
end of the Holland Tunnel.

Red tail lights are reflected
on the ceiling & walls of
the Tunnel.

The truck on the left of the picture easily clears the 12 foot 6 inch Tunnel.

Our GPS tracks our progress
through the 1.6 mile long
Tunnel.

The light at the north end
of the Tunnel.

We are immediately
confronted with
choices.

I'm grateful for our GPS.

We are taking Exit 1 toward

Welcome to New York.

We follow signs to New York
 State Route 9A/the West Side
Highway.

Traffic is moving
smoothly....

Large ships are moored at piers
along the Hudson River.

The Aircraft Carrier Intrepid is
permanently moored at Pier 86.

Eric remembers this Car Wash from
from road testing along the West
Side Highway in the 1990s.

We turn off the West Side
Highway in search of
West 64th Street.

Eric negotiates Columbus

It's Garbage Day in this
section of Manhattan.

Just two more turns &
we arrive at our

Eric will explore the streets and avenues near Central Park, eat lunch at Tavern on the Green and visit the Guggenheim Museum.
