Nebraska Into Wyoming

There's a lot to cover today.  Eastern Nebraska has gentle rolling hills, Mid Nebraska is very flat.   The Panhandle of Nebraska, extreme Northwest Corner has Sandhills.  This is a unique geologic area that is stark, yet beautiful.

It's an easy drive on a mostly straight road

We didn't realize it, but we were headed uphill, gradually.  Outside of Cheyenne, Wyoming we passed a sign that said we were at 8,000 feet elevation.  Eric was driving the 5 percent downhill grade into Laramie.

I called the Walmart in Laramie and asked the manager for permission to park in their parking lot over night.  We are not alone.  There are two tractor trailers and at least four other RVs here.

What's the etiquette on parking at places like WMT and do people often just do it and not ask permission?
Here's an article about the parking issue WRT CDL drivers and HOS, and the parking problem.

I figure there is some spillover of the issues relating to RVers when visiting urban environs.

Good article. Long haul truckers have challenges. I know I wouldn't want a tractor trailer idling outside my house all night long.

Love's, Pilot & Flying J Truck Stops allow truckers to overnight. Rest stops on Interstates area available for over-nighting, unless posted otherwise.

Drivers are required to pull off the road for sleep periods during hauls. I hope they can get the rest they need without being rousted.
