Kelly Ingram Park is a short

 walk from the 16th Street

 Baptist Church.

This Park was the meeting 

place for Civil Rights Marchers.

The girls killed in the 16th Street

 Baptist Church are memorialized

 in the Four Spirits Statue.

As a young child, I remember watching the violence in Birmingham on the Evening News and being very upset that the Police hurt people.  I remember the photos in the newspapers.  The shocking images are on display at Kelly Ingram Park for all to see and to learn about what the people of Birmingham endured as they demanded their Civil Rights.
