Eric & I tour the California Academy
the entrance is following the
current California Mask Mandate.
The first thing we did was go to the Planetarium to watch the Big Astrology Program. Chile has numerous Observatories and a Large Array that gather data about the Universe from near and from very far away.
I'm sharing some highlights from our visit...
A storm toppled this Redwood
Tree in February 2017.
This slice, taken from higher
up in the tree is approximately
9 feet across.
I am reminded of Richard Preston's Wild Trees: A Story of Passion and Daring. This book tells the stories of those who search for the tallest trees in North America, and the dangers encountered along the way.
Looking up through the levels of
the Rainforest.
Looking down on fish.
A closer shot of the fish in the
with reflections of visitors
at the bottom of the photo.
Smaller Rainforest Creatures:
Butterflies at colorful feeders
their tank.
This is a marvelous Science Museum!
