Little Tree Art Studios: Jim's Artwork in Avondale Estates, Georgia

Jim's studio at Little Tree Art Studios fascinates me.  His works incorporate the Old West, commercialism, social mores and humor as he plays with time and space.  But there's more...

The back of the
 topless woman
has a face.

Women have evolved in art, from ethereal creatures to fleshed out women involved in many activities from mothering to industrial workers.

Look carefully at the knees
of the tall man's pants...

The hang of the left pant leg
includes a football.

The right pant leg has a
sideways, gnome-like face.

The legs of the housewife on the left morphed into running lava.  Much of the Southwest shows evidence of ancient volcanic activity.  Look carefully at the silver stream within the lava.  I see a face.  The bus and car came to rest at the edge of a large Mesa, which has been worn by millennia of wind erosion.  The rock formations beneath the housewife of rock formations in Joshua Tree National ParkMillions of years,  and erosion created the "rock piles" visitors see today.  I see a bird-like face in the lower right corner.

I've been reading American Art, The World's Greatest Art by Mike O'Mahony and paying close attention the artistic influences of America's modern artists.  Jim is an admirer of illustrator Haddon Sundblom.

I just found out that Sundblom
created the Quaker Oats
 Man & here he is....

Sundblom's kindly Quaker &

& the smiling 1960s
housewife in "The
Dark Ride" continues
the artist's time
warping techniques.

The more I study Jim's works, the more I see his artistic influences and his use of imagery.
