Photos of El Capitan @ Guadalupe Mountains National Park

Staff at Pine Springs Visitors Center told Eric that the best place to see El Capitan is from a pull off four miles south of the entrance to the Visitors Center and campground.

Here we are on a beautiful,
clear day.

Eric parked the car in
this scenic spot.

That's Eric in the lower right-hand corner, dwarfed by El Capitan.

A closeup shot of the "tower"
with my camera's long lens.

El Capitan is the distinctive
mountain, seen 15 miles away,
at the roadway to McKittrick

It's no surprise that explorers and map makers chose this particular mountain as a landmark for travelers who would follow.

Brilliant post. I checked out your blog pretty regularly, and you're continuously
coming up with some decent staff. I shared this blog post on my Tumblr,
and my followers loved it. Good luck.
