Our first stop is the ARCO
This is the lowest price for Diesel Fuel in Quartzsite.
There's a separate entrance &
Diesel Pumps for Trucks.
Eric tops off our motorhome's
fuel tank.
We turn south on US
Route 95....
... for most of today's drive.
I take pictures while
Eric drives.
Yuma is 73 miles away.
Eric & I discuss the
silhouette on this sign.
Is it a Deer, a Mule Deer,
a mistake, or something else?
I didn't find an answer. Sonoran Pronghorn Antelope are found in Arizona, at higher elevations, on the state's grassy prairies. Southwest Arizona doesn't have abundant grasslands needed to support Antelope.
A motorhome traveling north.
A Customs & Border Control
Checkpoint inspects vehicles
traveling north.
Be alert for Donkeys
on the road.
The sign at the fenceline says:
Danger
US Government Property
No Trespassing
Unexploded Ammo
Orange flowers & green grass
are reminders of abundant
winter rains.
United States Army
Yuma Proving Ground
Area's entrance is flanked
by decommissioned
military hardware.
Driving past Citrus Trees.
An irrigation canal
Green fields surround
this low slung house.
Eric & I return to Yuma Lakes
We receive a booklet on
crossing the US/Mexican
Border for Medical Services
in Los Algodones & a flier
for Alex Mobile Wash.
Eric & I set up our campsite
for the week.
Let's go to IN-N-OUT Burger. I want to find out what "Animal Style" is all about.
