A bright, sunny day greets us
as we start today's drive on
Interstate 64 West.
Eric & I drive past rock cuts.
A lot of preparatory work went
into building this road.
A lot of information is shared
quickly....
an unfurling ribbon.
St. Louis is 193 miles away.
I dropped off mail for Eric's
mom, Jerry, in Lynnville.
Welcome to Illinois
We pass by one oil derrick, &
another & another...

southern Illinois.
Eric & I continue on
Interstate 64 West.
in the distance.
It's miles away.
We enter Missouri & slow
down for a 35 mph ramp
to Interstate 70 West.
a series of trails, using some
abandoned railroad beds
in St. Louis area.
