Interstate 70 West will take
Eric & me into eastern
Utah.
These huge earth movers are
dwarfed by Colorado's
landscape.
The view from this mountaintop
home must be amazing.....
Buffalo graze by the side
of the highway,
I love taking photos of
this rocky terrain.
Weather worn mountains
loom above us as we
drive west.
I hope the stability of this
outcropping is checked
regularly.
No one wants to be on this section of road if that huge boulder breaks off....
Welcome to Utah
Eastern Utah is gently rolling, rocky desert.
Red rock formations rise
out of the earth as Eric
& I drive south on
US Route 191.
A photo of a stone arch
with a person beneath it,
wearing red.
Downtown Moab is lined with
shops, restaurants & bars.
Rugged rust colored mountains
dwarf ocher colored hills.
Hole N" The Rock
A farm reminds me that this
region of Utah is more than
hiking, rock climbing &
4 wheeling.
People are working the land too.
Eric opened the drivers side
window so I could get this
photo of a rainbow.
The light at late afternoon
makes this formation
luminous.
Eric & I park for the night in
a large gravel lot off of
US 191, south of Monticello.
As I make dinner, we talk about the amazing scenery we've seen along this eight hour drive. This region of the country must be visited, not just driven through.
