Our 2004 Winnebago Vectra
has a Cummins 350 Engine
that needs a checkup.
The Engine Check Up will include checking and replacing engine belts, if necessary. We want to have the antifreeze and hydraulic fluids replaced. The coolant system will be checked because Eric is adding antifreeze every couple months. The exhaust system will be checked and our leaking Manifold Gasket will be replaced. Our Cummins Onan Generator will have its oil and coolant fluids checked and if necessary changed, its fuel filter changed, and it will be inspected and tested to make sure it is running correctly.
Eric and I are members of the Cummins Power Club and will be receiving some discounts on the work done here.
Eric & I spent the night
in the Cummins parking
lot to be on time for our
motorhome's 7 am
appointment.
Eric & the Cummins
Logo.
That's a BIG engine.
Cummins swag is
available.
Eric & I go to the
Service Desk to
review the work
we want done
today.
The Customer Lounge
waits.....
... But not for us. Eric and I are looking for adventures in the Capital District that we've lived in most of our lives, yet never had the time to explore.
As expected, the work done on the motorhome will take more than one day. A small leak was found in the coolant system and the entire system will be tested after the repair.
It's a good thing that we planned for this possibility and made reservations at a local hotel.
The work is done and it's time to reunite with our home.
The motorhome sits in the
back lot, waiting for its
owners.
The bill, with discounts, was pretty evenly split between parts and labor.... $3,100.00 and change. Eric and I can continue our planned travels with confidence that our Cummins engine, coolant system, exhaust system and generator are in working order.
