A retired Master Plumber, Barney started creating themed Toilet Seats in 1964. He opened his Museum in 1992.

Barney Smith's Museum found a new home at The Truck Yard in The Colony, Texas. Barney cut the ribbon at the Museum's new location. He died on July 23, 2019, knowing that this important part of his life is being curated and is available to the public.
