The Big House was a music
 laboratory for The Allman
 Brothers Band

They developed their distinctive
Southern Rock style that sets
them apart from all other
rock bands.

Tragedy struck the Allman Brothers Band twice in the early 1970s.  On October 29, 1971, Duane Allman died in a motorcycle accident.  He lost control of his motorcycle and drove it into the side of a flat bed truck in Macon.  Tragedy struck again on November 11, 1972.   Perry Oakley died from a head injury following a motorcycle accident on State Highway 19 in Macon.

Our next stop is Rose Hill Cemetery to visit their graves.
