Our Day of Merry Mix-Ups....

We are keeping busy while our motorhome is being serviced at the Freightliner Custom Chassis Center.

It's a grey day so Eric & I
drive to WestGate Mall
to see Exodus: Gods & Generals.

We'll walk around the mall
& wait for the theater to open.

Eric checked for movies in the area and found Exodus Gods and Generals at the Regal Theater at WestGate Mall.  After the theater opens, Eric finds out that the earliest showing of the movie is at 3:30 pm and that there's another Regal Theater, Spartan 16, just .4 of a mile from the mall.  We jump into the Jeep go as quickly as we can to the other Regal Theater.

Eric buys our tickets, gets a
bucket of popcorn & then
 looks closely at the tickets.

Exodus: Gods & Generals
started at 12:30 pm.

We are half an hour late!  Eric explains our mix-up to the manager, who refunds the price of the tickets.  Eric and I climb into the  Jeep with a large bucket of popcorn.  The weather is clearing up and a drive looks like a good idea.  Let's find a brew pub so Eric can get a beer flight.  He entered the search term brew into our Garmin GPs and we head north to Forest City for a craft beer tasting.

We cross into North
Carolina in search of
craft beers.

in Forest City has brewed
coffee, & some bottled beer.

They don't have craft beers
or beer flights here.

Forest City is a cute town.  Let's walk around and see what we find.

fun & artsy.

This eclectic store sells
craft beers & wine.

Eric's Garmin search didn't find The Twisted Pear when he did a search for brew.  I'm glad we decided to walk around town.  Eric bought a few bottles to share with Dave and Kathy.

Eric did another search of the term brew in the GPS and found two breweries in  Kings Mountain.

Kings Mountain is located

Eric drove to the Stout Brewing Company.

Stout Brewing Company
does make beer...  flavored
beers, for distribution.

They don't have a tasting
room for the public.

The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is about five miles away on Yancey Road.  Off we go....

Eric drove to the listed
address & found, a farm.

Wow!  This has been a weird, yet fun day.  We enjoyed today's drive into North Carolina, our walks around West Gate Mall and Forest City.  It's just that our day didn't go exactly as planned.
