Our Drive Northwest to Sulphur Springs, Montana

Driving north on

A picturesque farm

This rugged roadside is the
result of millions of years
of erosion.

This train is transporting
two engines & many
freight cars.

Welcome to Lavina

Eric points out Bee Boxes
sitting in a field.

He wonders what crops are
being pollinated by this late
in the growing season.

I like the composition
of this photo.

Entering Ryegate
Better For Business

This Grain Elevator is modeled
New York in the mid-1800s.

This looks like a massive Industrial Farm.

Eric & I wait 21 minutes for
the Pilot Car to arrive &
escort us through the
Construction  Zone.

Here we go...

The Asphalt Paver flattens the
asphalt to the width of a
 single car lane.

Road Roller Machine Operators run their machines over the asphalt and compress it to create the smooth surface that cars and trucks drive on.

The "beach" used to be covered
by water.

The low water line is just one of the many signs of Montana's worsening drought.

Miles later, the Pilot Car pulls
over & allows us, & other
drivers to proceed at the
posted Speed Limit.

A rare sighting...

A vintage AirStream

It's in beautiful condition.

Entering White Sulphur

Eric & I are staying at
