Our Bedroom Closet has
a shelf, hanging space
for shirts & pants, a
shelf & storage
space beneath.
Full-length hanging
space is on the other
side of the partition.
Eric and I realized, over time, that this configuration isn't working well for us. He removed the lower shelf a few years ago. Eric continued to think about our storage preferences and planned for this project.
For this project, Eric removed
the partition, the clothing rod
from the full-length section of
the closet & stacked them
outside.
He is measuring across the
back wall o the closet for
the new shelf.
Eric goes outside to cut wood
for the closet rod ends,
shelving, & the closet rod.
Eric's using PVC lumber
because it's prefinished
& lightweight.
I like taking pics of Eric
while he works.
This end of the closet rod
is above the access panel
to plumbing for a
washer/dryer.
Eric & I removed the
washer/dryer years ago
& created a storage
space.
The wood on this end of the
closet rod extends to
the closet's floor.
Eric measures the metal
pipe he's using as our
new closet rod.
The pipe is clamped to the
work table & Eric is ready
to make the cut.
The closet rod is level.
I get to remove the
closet rod sticker.
The new wire shelf goes
the entire width of the
closet.
Brackets reinforce the
shelf & creates short
sections for our
clothing to hang.
Eric & I are very happy
with the results.
