Today Eric & I are exploring

Monroe Chamber of
Commerce

The mural on the side of the
 building has portraits of
famous Freemasons.

I recognize George Washington, Ben Franklin, Mark Twain, John Wayne, and Buzz Aldrin.  I don't know who two of the portraits on the left are.

This older "barn style" home
is beautifully kept.

Buildings from the early 1900s house 21st century businesses.

Doloff-Key Building Since 1901

South Lewis Street has more murals...

I love this scene...

The truck cab is painted
on the side door of the
building.

A scene from one of my
favorite plays -

Dated June 1993

This mural should be titled Life on the River.

Keg-n-Cue's mural covers most of its building.

This building with its
rusticated stone facade
is a stand out among
the early 20th century
buildings in Monroe.

Monroe's downtown businesses
continue to thrive as big box
stores opened just miles away.

From what I've seen traveling across America, that's a major accomplishment for a small city.
