Rollin' on the River Car Show @ Rivers Casino in Schenectady, New York Part III

Rat Rods are a distinctive category of show cars and trucks.  The goal is the unfinished, owner inspired look .... There may be no paint on them, a flat primer coat, or the paint may be very worn and faded.  Embellishments are can be creative.  Some Rat Rod owners replace standard car parts with nonstandard parts or creatively designed parts made of scrap metal.

This article explains what Rat Rods are and their development through the years.

This 1914 Hupmobile Touring
Rat Rod has no paint on it.

I expect to see the Clampetts
driving to Beverly Hills
California after discovering
 oil on their property.

The Coach-Lamp is nonstandard.

The rearview mirror is attached
with curved rebar.

This 1929 Ford Rat Rod has
 a black primer finish &
customized engine with
exhaust pipes.
.

The unfinished exterior does not
extend to the beautifully
restored interior.

Eric closely examines the
1941 Dodge Rat Rod.

Its finish is distressed steel
with pinstripes.

The engine has been
customized.

The exterior visor has
badly worn paint.
My impression of Rat Rods is that they are creative, individualistic rides.
