Our Drive Southwest to Dover, Pennsylvania

Leaving Timothy Lake South Campground

Come Back Soon!

We again start our day's
drive on  US Route 209

The road ahead is empty
at 10:30 am.

I take a turn driving...

... while Eric puts his feet up.

Traffic moves smoothly past
this new bridge construction.

We follow the sign to Interstate
& York.

I love taking pictures of this
arched bridge over the

& me towards Gettysburg.

84 Lumber has more locations
than I  ever imagined.

We pass farms & ...

... Corn Fields.

Pennsylvania Route 94 goes to

We drive through

... & wait for a fellow RVer to
enter our next campground.

We are staying at Gettysburg
Farm RV Resort for a few
weeks.

Eric & our motorhome after
we've settled in.

It doesn't look like it now,
but rain is coming.

We have a 50 amp electric service, with good voltage, along with water and sewer hookups.

The heavy rain has arrived.

A giant puddle covers
the road.

The power went out about 9:30 pm
& I took this photo from our RV.

Our solar-powered batteries keep
the lights on in our motorhome
while we wait for the
 power to return.

The outage lasted about two hours.  Tomorrow we'll explore our new neighborhood.

It's a Date! @ Tolino Vineyard in Stroudsbury, Pennsylvania

Eric & me in front
our Wine Tasting
Date.

We chose mid-afternoon on Thursday to avoid crowds.

French Doors lead to
the Bar & Tasting
Room

Tolino Wines are available
for tasting.

Currently, group tastings are
not available at the Bar.

Businesses must encourage customers to keep their distance at this time.

Tolino also has Pennsylvania
Beers on tap.

Eric and I make our wine selections and head outside...

... where we sit at an intimate
table for two.

Eric ordered Tomato Pie to accompany his wine selections.  I ordered a Cheese Plate to share.

We shared eight different Tolino Wines: Chardonnay, Lilly, Vidal Blanc, Catawba, Merlot, Cab Franc, Rad Red, and Sunnyside.  Lilly and Sunnyside were our favorites.

Sharing new wines and lounging in Tolino's tiny back yard on a warm summer afternoon was perfect!

A Midweek Hike Around Hidden Lake in Middle Smithfield, PA

Eric & I chose Hidden Lake
Trail because it doesn't
include a waterfall.

The Waterfall Trails are VERY popular and we know that weekend hikes on these trails are too crowded for us.

This Trailhead is almost
empty at 10:00 am.

Eric looks at the map of
the Recreation Area &
the inset for this Trail,
on the lower right.

We're sharing a set of Trekking Polls because our research shows the Trail is a bit hilly.

Eric & I apply bug repellent
for our walk in the woods
around Hidden Lake.

Our first view of
the lake.

The Trail crosses an old
stone wall.

Indian Pipe is a plant.

It is not in the
Mushroom Family.

Fungi grow on this decaying log.

I could be Coriolus hirsutus.

The Trail leads us to a
boarded-up building.

I like this pic.

Eric on a narrow bridge
across a wet spot.

Eric & me at the
southern end of
Hidden Lake.

We find a Magnolia bloom.

I wonder if there was a
farmhouse nearby...

hovers in the tall grass.

We carefully cross exposed

Eric & I examine the Spider Web in the upper right.

We pass hikers and picnickers as we return to the Trailhead.  It's almost noon and the parking lot is nearly full.
