Sunrise @ Saratoga Escape Lodges & RV Resort in Greenfield, New York

Eric figured out that sunrise occurs on the east side of the Saratoga Escape Lodges and RV Resort lake.  We are up early, and with camera in hand, I wait to capture the changing sky before sunrise... moment....

The Waning Crescent Moon
dominates a changing sky
at 6:10 am.

Saratoga Escape Lodges and RV Resort's lake reflects the sky's pastel colors.

The clouds fill with color
at 6:14 am.

The reflections on the
lake are rich with
color.

Color fades from the
clouds at 6:19 am.

Sunrise occurred, at 6:26 am on September 6, 2018, behind the trees.

I shift the camera to the
northeast to capture
colors that fill clouds

6:40 am comes & goes as the
sky loses its color.

6:50 am: The sky is bright,
but there's no ball of sun
in the sky.

Here comes the sun, through
the trees, at 6:58 am.

I got restless while waiting to greet the sun and spent some time between photos looking around the campsite.  Here's what I found....

I picked these small items of
trash out of the gravel that
surrounds our motorhome.

They will be put the trash and not find their way into  the mouths of fish and wildlife.

After seeing maimed Sea Turtles at the Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island, Georgia, I have become vigilant about picking up litter.  All uncollected garbage eventually ends up in steams, lakes, rivers and the ocean.  Everyone can help keep wildlife safe from injury and death by picking up a little trash every day.

Driving Northeast to Greenfield Center, New York

Eric & I drive past farms
on our drive northeast.

Eric & I leave Interstate
88 East at Exit 25.

Again, we decide to avoid a
12 foot 6 inch bridge by
driving along Broadway

Today's drive takes us
along country roads.

Route 50 in Burnt Hills.

Hathorn No. 3 Mineral Spring

Eric drew mineral water from this spring during a visit in mid May for his Mom.  His family always stopped at mineral springs during visits to Saratoga Springs for "the waters."

New York State Route
9 N takes us to...

Eric asked me to take a picture
of the Greenfield Chuck Wagon.

It's a re-purposed camping
trailer.

We pass by horse farms.

Saratoga Springs is known for horse racing and polo.  There are numerous horse farms throughout  Saratoga County that breed and board thoroughbred horses.

Eric & I arrive at Saratoga

Eric & I are parked next to
the lake, in one of the
campsites without trees.

The campground is supplying water and 50 amp electric service.  Our DirecTV satellite dish is trained at TV satellites that provide many channels for viewing.

Brunch @ The Hen & The Hound in Middleburgh, New York

Welcome to Middleburgh,
first settled in 1713.

Parishioners are leaving the
Sunday Service.

Eric & I have reservations
for brunch at The Hen
& The Hound.

The decor is informal.

This former private
home is quaint.

The bar

A shot of of one of
several, secluded
dining rooms
The menu mixes breakfast and lunch foods, giving diners many choices.  It changes weekly to take advantage of seasonal bounties.

Eric's brunch choice is a
Pancake topped with
 Sunny Side Up Egg.

My "Not from a Can" Hash
has cubed Corned Beef &
Potatoes with three Poached
Eggs & a side of Leaf Lettuce.

Eric loved his specialty breakfast.  I am very impressed by the quality of the hash.  The Poached Eggs are irregular because they were dropped into boiling water.  The side salad is an unexpected, and delicious side.

There's a lot on the menu that Eric and I want to try.  We shall return....

weekend's Horseshoe

Two Porta-Potties are
strategically located on
the opposite end of the
campground.

The campsites are very
deep.

Seasonal campers have
permanent decks.

Campsites that get lots of
sun have awnings out & a
free standing pavilion.

Our motorhome, & our
neighbors are enjoying
the shade on a hot day.

Sadly, Hide-A-Way Campsites also has low voltage.  When the daily highs were in the 70s, Eric and I read good voltage readings of 111 and up.  The weather turned hot again and, the our generator was started on to keep our air conditioner running.

One of our neighbor is
a Zombie fan.

Black Flamingos with
fangs protect this
campsite.

The skulls are the remains
of uninvited guests.
