Visiting ALDI in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

This overnight parking spot is a short walk from the ALDI store.  I've been blogging about grocery stores in the US and Canada since January, 2013.  Every time I think I've covered the major chain stores, I see one that I haven't visited.

ALDI is a stand out in
the grocery category.

ALDI offers low price foods in a no frills environment.  There is no customer loyalty card program.

Bread

Dairy

Coffee, Creamers,
Coffee Filters

Soda & Juice

 The Holiday Shopping Aisle

Candy

Check Outs

ALDI isn't a full service grocery store with a butcher, fish counter, organic foods etc.  This company sells selected foods at discount prices.  Shoppers have fewer choices here, but leave knowing they have taken advantage of deep discounts.

Overnight Parking at Walmart in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Eric and I have a subscription to OvernightRVParking.com.  We use this database to find spots to overnight without a fee.  Harrisburg is our fist stop.  The Walmart on Grayson Avenue allows overnight parking.   I called the Walmart, asked for and received permission to stay the night on the edge of their parking lot.

Eric parked the motorhome next to the wall at the back of the parking lot.  This section of the parking lot is pretty level.

The store's security guard spends the night sitting in a truck about 50 feet away.  We feel very safe here.

Driving South to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania

Eric turns off Route 7
onto Interstate 88.

During hunting season I
watch carefully for deer.

I think Interstate 88 is the
road Eric & I travel
most often.

We leave Interstate 88

Eric follows the detour
signs to Interstate 81
South.

South to Scranton...

We'll stop to at the Pennsylvania
Welcome Center for a state map.

We cross the Pennsylvania
state line.

Snow dusts the rock
cut that Interstate 81
runs through.

A historical sign next to the
highway lists George W.
Scranton as the namer &

Eric stays left on Interstate 81.

This area is fog prone.
