APR RV FlexArmor Application: Part 4, Spraying on the Roof Protection

Eric & I don masks
to watch the FlexArmor
application process.

Michael adjusts his
Respirator.

A quick spray of the plastic
protecting the motorhome
gives Michael the opportunity
to check the sealant's drying
time.

FlexArmor dries FAST.

He uses an Infrared Thermometer
Gun to check the temperature of
the Sealant as it dries.

Application of the FlexArmor
coating begins.

The Sealant covers the roof
& the seam of the rear
end cap.

Michael takes his time applying FlexArmor to the driver's side of the roof & adjoining  Motorhome body.

Our FlexArmor Roof treatment covers the fiberglass side "rails" that cover the gap between the roof and the body of the motorhome.  Winnebago manufactures these side "rails" to fit tightly together without adhesives or screws.  Rarely, a roofs side "rail" comes loose in the wind while driving. The Roof edge rail is NOT screwed into the motorhome only tucked under the side wall and roof.

APR RV adds screws to this roof side rail before applying the FlexArmor. This attention to detail impressed us very much. There is probably no need to add the screws since the coating will hold the rail in place but this shows the care and attention to detail that this shop takes to assure the customer will never experience a problem with it.  This added precaution will keep the RVer from having a major delay in their travel plans if that rail ever does come loose.

Eric takes a brief video of
 the application process.

The Tech positions the hose
for Michael as he moves
the length of our RV.

sprays beneath our ladder.

It's important to spray around
each edge of every roof
attachment.

Panel brackets.

There's a lot of roof here
to be sprayed repeatedly
to build up the 3/8" thick
FlexArmor coating.

Each attachment will be
carefully sealed as the
FlexArmor is applied.

Michael & the Tech take
a brief break to say
goodbye to Eric &
me.

He will make multiple passes, building up the FlexArmor coating which protects the roof and creates a waterproof seal for everything mounted on our motorhome's roof.  The roof coating will be 3/8" thick.

Michael was so precise in prepping our motorhome's roof.  He and the APR RVTechs answer our questions as they arise.  Eric and I look forward to seeing the Big Reveal after the FlexArmor coating has dried and the coverings comer off our roof attachments.
