Full-timing in a Hickory Nut Camper

Eric and I are spending a few nights at the Walmart Supercenter parking lot just outside Carson City, Nevada.  A car with a cute trailer parked nearby.  Eric and the trailer's owner, Gary started talking about experiences full-timing.

Gary has been full-timing
for 26 years.

After his Class C Camper wore out, Gary had a Hickory Nut Camper built.  He's downsized to this small, unique trailer.

Made of hickory, each
camper is carefully crafted.

The kitchen area

Gary's tiny trailer attracts a lot of attention.  Christina Nellemann met Gary and posted a blog on his rig.

Storage is in the front
of the camper.

This is the second wooden trailer we've come across in our travels.

Gary lives very simply.

In colder weather, he uses
a military sleeping bag.

There is storage at the
end of Gary's bedding.

He stows food in coolers &
 has other items he needs
in the back of his car.

Gary is very happy to share his off-grid camping experiences.  His flashlight charges by turning a handle. Without any plug in devices, Gary lives the simple life.
