A Stay @ Suni Sands RV Resort in Yuma, Arizona

 Eric and I stay at several different RV Parks in Yuma, Arizona.

Our favorite place to stay is
Suni Sands RV Resort.

We use our Thousand Trails

Collection membership, to

 stay here for two weeks

at no charge.

Courts are adjacent to

the Office Patio.

Yuma International Airport is on the south side of East 32nd Street, across from Suni Sands RV Resort.  Eric and I see private and commercial planes as well as military aircraft taking off and landing from the adjacent Marine Corps Air Station during the workweek.  There are few planes and even fewer military aircraft flying on weekends.

Holiday decorations are lighting up the night at Suni Sands RV Resort.

There's a gate in the wall that

 surrounds the Resort.

It allows access to  Walmart.

Eric & I are parked in the

"Transient Section."

We have 50 amp electric

service with good voltage,

water & sewer hookups.

It feels spacious right now because we don't have a next-door neighbor.  Our table will move closer to the motorhome when one arrives.

This is the last leg of the drive to Yuma, Arizona.  

Today's three-hour drive

 starts on Interstate 10 East.

Its environmental struggles

continue.

Scrubby plants and bushes grow in this section of the Mohave Desert.

State Route 78 East.

My guess is this is a refinery.

Eric turns onto California

State Route 111 South.

Sheep in a nearby field

of Fuel Additive.

remember to add it.

Interstate 8 East will
take us to Yuma.

I wonder if spray irrigation will be replaced by drip irrigation as the severe drought in the Southwest continues.

RVs, with ATVs, come to the

 Algodones Dunes to ride on

the soft sand.

Diesel Fuel Additive from

a lower bay in the

motorhome.

An irrigation canal snakes

our favorite place to stay.

The Drive Southeast to Palm Desert, California

 

The first leg of today's drive is on Interstate 215 South.

So this is where pallets come from.

Eric follows the signs to

Interstate 10 East.

The first "Franken Tree" of the day.

Traffic on I 10 West to Los Angeles 

is building...

We will drive past Banning &

Palm Springs.

Wind Turbines loom over I 10.

Westbound traffic to LA is heavy.

Our entry into Thousand Trails Palm

Desert RV Resort was delayed by a

car accident in front of the Resort.

Eric & I have a drive-through

campsite with 30 amp service,

water & sewer connections.

During our return stay, we noticed changes...  The Orange Trees are gone and lawns between campsites haven't been watered, resulting in more sandy campsites.  California's severe drought is the reason for the loss of greenery.

This one is a TrailManor 2700.

The owner of this 1989 Dodge

Class B Motorhome told me

that it has a sunken Living

Room, allowing him to stand

up straight in its tiny space.

After 14 years of living in this Class B Motorhome, he has no interest in buying anything larger.
