Wine Tastings in Sedona, Arizona

Eric & I return to Sedona

for an afternoon.

Zoltar does a reading for Eric.

Javelinas are the town's

"mascots."

Don't call them Pigs!

Eric & I stop at Winery 1912

for tastings & a nosh.

This mural honors Westerns were filmed in Sedona's rugged landscape:

3:10 to Yuma (1957), Broken Arrow (1950), Billy the Kid (1941),

Angel & The Bad Man (1947), to name a few...

It's Christmas all year round

in Sedona.

Eric & I Drive South to Cottonwood, Arizona

Eric drives to the end of

Arizona State Route 64

South.

This section of our drive is

on Interstate 40 East.

Streams & rivers in Arizona

flow East or West from

 this high point.

This is beautiful...

This is the Fifth Kadampa

Temple for World Peace.

A lone bicyclist braves

the conditions on an

Interstate.

Now I know what the

base of a Frankentree

looks like.

Eric & I turn South

onto Interstate 17.

This section of the road

is in terrible shape.

Every layer of the roadbed

has been removed.

Eric's experience working at the New York State Department of Transportation is helpful on this part of the drive. He tells me that the work being here will create a road that will last for fifty years.

We are on a long stretch

of downhill grades that

will descend over

3,000 feet.

The views are pretty.

The Runaway Truck Ramp

has a bed of soft dirt to slow

heavy Tractor Trailers.

Elevation

4,000 Feet

This Tractor Trailer is

being towed.

I remember our Towing Experience in Mount Vernon, Washington.  Daniel of Dick's Towing Service carefully prepared our motorhome and safely towed it to Northwestern Freightliner.

Yucca Plants in bloom...

This is the first time that Eric and I are spending time in Arizona in June.  I wonder what other blooms I will see.

Here's our Exit to

Arizona State Route 260.

Eric follows the road signs

West to Thousand Trails

Road.

The mountains to the

north are pinkish,

Arriving at Thousand Trails

 Verde Valley RV Resort.

Eric & I have lots of

space at Site K-6.

We chose a 50 Amp Site and are paying $10.00 per day for the extra amperage to stay comfortable during the 90-degree temperatures that are forecasted during our stay.

Wildflowers grow on our

awning side.

This is the view behind

the motorhome.

This is a great place to relax after two months of near-constant travel.
