Adam Amazes @ The Blue and The Gray Bar & Grill in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Eric Adam and I went to lunch
at The Blue & The Gray Bar
& Grill.

While looking over the menu, Adam found The Pickett's Charge Challenge.  It is described as a sandwich as large as the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia combined.  The open challenge is:  Do you have what it takes to finish it?  Or will you reach your '""high-water-mark?"  If he can eat the entire stack of burgers five quarter pound hamburgers and fixins' in 20 minutes, he'll get a free $25.00 lunch.

The Blue and The Grey has been offering this challenge for years.  Each successful diner adds more food to the challenge meal.  The last ultimate challenge meal included a large amount of potatoes.  That "meal" was recently retired and the first person to conquer the massive sandwich added eggs.

Adam sizes up the tower
of food before him.

Eric is impressed.

I wish Adam hadn't
eaten breakfast.

People sitting nearby ogled the giant sandwich, stacked between two Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, and took pictures.

Adam digs in & stops
occasionally to drink
water.

He ate the whole thing in
13 minutes, 7 minutes shy
of the 20 minute time limit.

It's Adam's turn to add something to The Pickett's Charge Challenge.  He browsed the menu and asked the chef to add a Philly Cheese Steak to the ever growing meal.

Staff happily presented
Adam with a tee shirt.

He wears it with pride.

This is Adam's second food challenge.  He conquered the Flapjack Attack Challenge at a Village Diner in Potsdam, New York about 13 years ago for a free meal and a tee shirt.
