Visiting The Simpsons' House in Henderson, Nevada

Thank you, Atlas Obscura, for sharing a post about The Simpsons' House in Henderson, Nevada.  Eric and I are big fans of The Simpsons cartoon show.  I am amazed that this show has been on in Prime Time for more than 30 years.

We turned off of North Boulder
 into this suburban neighborhood.

The houses are close
together in this
neighborhood.

We are looking for a house with a chimney on Red Bark Lane.   The other houses don't have chimneys because wood-burning fireplaces aren't used in southern Nevada.

Here it is... a tan house with
a chimney & an interesting
story...

In 1997 architects and builders recreated a near-perfect replica of Homer and Marge Simpsons' 742 Evergreen Terrace home, inside and out.  The plan was to give this ultimate piece of memorabilia to a very lucky Simpsons fan.

It was originally painted in
the exact colors of the
cartoon family's home.

The Homeowner's Association was unhappy that the color of the house didn't conform to earth tone hues used throughout the neighborhood.  The Simpsons fan who won the house in sweepstakes didn't want it.  The current owners live with constant curiosity about their home.  Simpsons fans walk up to the house and try to get a look inside.

The owners of Walter White house seen in the Breaking Bad Series deal with curious strangers too.

Matt Groenig added Homer's
face in the sidewalk, &
signed it.

I took all of the pictures from the sidewalk in front of the house.

I rotated the photo to show
Homer's face & Groenig's
signature.

This was fun!  Let's go to Edith M's Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Garden.
